I am trying to have more fun with my running. Being in continuous training mode really takes the fun out of it - having to do certain runs in order to be ready for an event makes running a chore. Having stopped keeping track of times has helped. My goal is to run as often as possible and enjoy it more.
This past year I did the Long Island marathon and set a PR: 4:49. I followed up with Steamtown in the fall and failed to set a PR as I thought I would. Clearly I was not ready for the downhills and did not prep enough. If I had been 10-20 pounds lighter that might have made up for the extra needed training.
