Managed to get a run (5K) in this evening when I got home from work. Groin area ok but left ankle still a problem. Not a heavy problem but soreness weaving in and out. Felt great to be moving. Am getting hopeful that I'll be able to run regularly. The weather the next few days is forecasted as fabulous. Am crossing my fingers.

Today's 5K run (did not race) was as close to being normal as I have had in a very long time. Have I turned the corner? Am really surprized given yesterday's discomfort! The groin area was practically normal. My left ankle bothered me but not too bad. It's so strange: the discomforts seem to move to different areas on my foot. I am just glad that my run was really OK!! Tomorrow I'll lay off the running and just do weights at the gym - Tuesday, I'll do another run and see how I feel.

Thursday, April 10th; felt pretty good all over and the weather was warm, low to mid sixties when I got home around 7:00. So I figured I'd go out for a run - did 3 miles. Groin area feeling ok but still having some tenderness. Left ankle was tight but not too bad. Afterwards, felt ok walking around the house. But on Friday, my ankle was very tender (like a sprained ankle) and not till later that night, after doing some weights did I feel completely ok. At the gym I do many exercises and they seem to align me - I can feel the difference.

There is a 5K race tomorrow which I'd like to do but I am very tentative about it - if my ankle and other areas are going to be sore it wouldn't be much fun. If I run today; the weather is expected to be nice; I don't think I'll have enough recovery time. Ugh! The challenges of balancing weather,
recovery, work, family and motivation.

This tenderness stuff has been going on for some time now - since December. I keep thinking that it may be time to hang up the running shoes. Tuesday I saw Dr. Goldman and he said I was improving but that I was still not completely aligned. However, he did not want to see me for two weeks. I don't want to completely lay off the running; my fitness levels would drop to zero, but by continuing to run moderately am I hampering my prospects for a "full recovery"? Too bad my wife is not a chiropractor / acupuncturist / herbologist / massage therapist. Guess I'll just have to settle for gourmet cook and sex goddess.

Back from a 5K run - took it easy but my left ankle was tight and sore most of the way. Can pretty much forget the idea of the race tomorrow. Nonetheless, it was nice to be out there moving. Took an ice soak for my foot and some Motrin to minimize the inflammation and hopefully tomorrow it will feel ok. Time will tell. I wish this thing would just go away!

The first workout in a long time where there was no serious pain on my left side or anywhere else. Maybe I am healing? Am sore now (a few hours later), but that is typical and not where I had feeling soreness before. The important difference is that during my treadmill run I felt OK! Today I managed to walk/run for 4.25 miles with 3.35 miles of continuous running. For the next week I will continue to take it easy and hopefully I will observe similar pain free running sessions. I was beginning to lose all hope that my discomforts would ever disappear.
