It's hard to believe that it is almost 2 months since I last recorded something here. I was getting tired of just posting race or training reports or obsessing over my aches, pains and injuries. I guess I could cop out with the venerable excuse about being so busy at work, but as we all know if one wants to do something they find a way.
I have been running regularly, and am still possibly in the hunt for doing the Philly Marathon but it does look iffy. I am registered for the Great Cow Harbor 10K Race in Northport on September 20th and have registered for the Entenmann's Half. My running has by in large been pretty good; good pace and not much serious discomfort. Have done some nice long runs, 7 and 9 milers.
Just today I have started reading "What I Talk about When I Talk about Running" by Haruki Murakami. In the foreword, he presents a most powerful running mantra: "Pain is Inevitable. Suffering is Optional." I am inspired!
